A Five-Step Process

The EiE curriculum was designed to get elementary students involved in real-world problem solving. It uses 5 simple steps with simple vocabulary to guide students through the Engineering Design Process that a working engineer would actually use.

What is the problem?
How have others approached it? What are your constraints?

ASK

What are some solutions?

Brainstorm ideas. Choose the best one.

IMAGINE

PLAN

Draw a diagram.

Make lists of materials you will need.

Follow your plan and create something.
